COLLABORATION TOOLS

Smashing the barriers of location and proximity

Take a video tour of ASSIMILATE’s new Collaboration workflow tools and see the future of Post-production and Dailies workflows!

ASSIMILATE’s new Collaboration workflow tools, combine with SCRATCH and SCRATCH Lab v8.2, to empower freelancers and facilities alike by overcoming one of today’s greatest challenges - being in two places at once.

  • How often do you wish you could collaborate with an expert colleague on a project, but they live in another city?

  • How often do you wish you could add an additional artist to a project, but none are available locally?

  • How often do you wish you could visit multiple clients in a day, but they’re too far apart?

Accessible via the MyASSIMILATE portal, these new tools smash the barriers of location and proximity by enabling powerful, collaborative Cloud-enabled workflows, while retaining all the advantages of a local pipeline.

MyASSIMILATE™

The MyASSIMILATE™ Portal is your launch pad for ASSIMILATE’s new Collaboration workflow tools, including SCRATCH Web, Galleries and the Project Repository.

But MyASSIMILATE is much more than that. It’s also the   place where you can see and manage all your SCRATCH®, SCRATCH Lab® and SCRATCH Play Premium™ licenses.

You can even generate emergency temp licenses to get you  out of a bind.

Remote

Remote facilitates incredible creativity by connecting any number of artists together in a real-time session, no matter where they are - or, where the media is.

Plan a session with your director for review; add a freelance artist to a session to set or fix a look; or tap an expert compositor to fix a VFX shot.

Remote provides the full power of SCRATCH to the virtual group - color-grading, compositing or editing.

...as easily as making a Skype call.

Project Repository (Beta)

Project Repository offers an easy way to collaborate and   share project data with anyone, anywhere in the world, independent of your Internet connectivity.

Instead of sending project files and folders back and forth   every time a change is made, the Repository shares project data seamlessly using on-line central storage. Connect any number of artists in a facility to each other, connect on-set   with post, or connect facilities with other facilities.

Freelancers can connect to multiple Repositories, each    owned and controlled by a different customer.

Galleries

Galleries allows you to store and maintain looks and compositing setups outside an individual project database and re-use them from project to project.

Rather than carry these looks with you on a drive or USB   stick, Galleries allows you to store them on our cloud server and share them with other users through MyAssimilate.

Each time you log into a SCRATCH 8 system, you can synchronize your local looks, user settings and panel mappings with your online account - making your personal setup easily available from anywhere, at any time. Sharing and using looks and composites with - and from other SCRATCH users takes just a few clicks.

People that do everything need tools that do everything.

Today’s media professionals are required to wear more hats than ever before. The age of specialization has given way to a flexible workforce of freelancers and “dot-it-all filmmakers who are required to master many disciplines. So many of today’s directors are also producers or cinematographers. Today’s actors are also writers or directors. The same is true in post-production, where editors are now also colorists, and visual effects artists. And this landscape changes constantly.

Anytime, anywhere.

Such constant change requires incredibly powerful, yet flexible tools that can take whatever you throw at them - wherever and whenever you need them. Enter SCRATCH Play + Microsoft's Surface Pro tablet. The perfect marriage of flexibility and power: the power of a full Windows 8 PC that goes virtually anywhere, with the flexibility of the world’s first free professional media player that supports all popular media formats. SCRATCH Play + Surface Pro is the perfect companion for media professionals both on-set and in post because:

  • You get the full power and graphics of a laptop computer in a tablet-sized device. So you can play or scrub virtually anything, from DSLR footage to RAW formats such as those from RED, ARRI, Sony, and Canon. It also means that you can run other applications that you need, such as Avid Media Composer, Final Draft, or even Microsoft Office, wherever you are.
  • You get the expandability that other tablets lack. Both USB-3 and WiFi offer flexible, high-speed expandability that allows you to easily plug in a card reader or mass storage device. So, your media is instantly available to play back - on-set or in post.
  • You get an HD screen with full calibration. Reviewing professionally shot footage on an ultra-portable device is far more powerful when knowing what your images really look like.

“We use SCRATCH Play to pull stills directly from the RED RAW files, and to be able to move through footage fast without having to stand at the DIT station. To have the Surface Pro to pull up a still, or moving footage, to match to the shot we’re doing currently is huge.

The Surface Pro is great because it's a full PC, but it’s portable. I have SCRATCH running on it, I have Media Composer running on it - those are all things I can’t do on an iPad.”

Diamond Brothers

"Having SCRATCH Play on my Surface Pro allows me to review footage on my own time and make notes right on the clips, to make sure we got all the shots, and that everything looks exactly the way I want it to look. Then, when I’m working with my SCRATCH colorist, I can review everything with him right there and know that we’re speaking the same language.”

Amanda Lippert: Filmmaker/producer/writer/actor/SCRATCH Play user

"I love SCRATCH Play on my Surface Pro, because I need to see what I’m shooting immediately. I can use the USB-3 port to just plug in a card reader, double-click on a clip, play it back and adjust the color to set looks in real time- no matter which format I’m shooting. So the DP and I can review the footage onset right after shooting it."
